What Diet Should You Follow
In this video, I’m going to help you determine what diet you should be following.
Now finding the perfect diet is similar to dating, sure there are plenty of fish in the sea, but that doesn’t mean each one will be to your liking.
Additionally, just because you find someone you like doesn’t mean it will work out in the long-term either.
Before getting started I want to mention the freebie for this video, which is Accelerated Fat Loss 101.
This guide is designed to give you all the necessary tools to master fat loss and expedite the process in which you can reach your fat loss goal.
No One-Size Fits All
By comparing dieting to dating I am able to emphasize an extremely important point when it comes to dieting.
There is no one size fits all when it comes to dating nor is there a one size fits all to dieting.
Your preferences are unique when it comes to who you choose to spend your time with and your preferences are unique when it comes to what you choose to eat.
For example, if you were raised in a South American household I wouldn’t expect you to all of a sudden adopt an entirely Asian diet and lifestyle overnight.
Even if you like Asian cuisine, the cuisine you were raised on is often going to be found in your adult diet.
4 Keys to a Successful Diet
Moving on, I want to discuss 4 keys to successful dieting that not only complement your dietary preference but allow you find success with them as well.
No. 1 Lifestyle Dieting
One of the most important things when it comes to being successful at sticking to a nutrition regime is that you follow a lifestyle diet rather than a one-off diet. For example, a typical one-off diet includes but is not limited to the Atkins diet, a juice cleanse, or a low-carb diet.
Firstly, these diets are focused on nutrient deprivation rather than building upon your dietary preferences and habits. And sure, you might experience success following any of these diets for a period of time.
However, since I doubt you plan on following them for the long-term you will end up struggling to phase off of your “diet” into something that’s truly sustainable.
This is why you are better off discovering a lifestyle diet that allows you to eat foods that ensure your success and also satisfy your pallet.
No. 2 Enjoy the Food You Eat
Next, you need to enjoy the food that you eat. Whether it be rice, chicken, and broccoli every day or you experiment with some French, Greek, Mexican and Indian cuisine on the regular.
Building upon a lifestyle diet, if you actually enjoy what you eat on a regular basis you won’t loathe your diet and you’ll be able to stick to it.
No. 3 Sustainable Dieting
Which subsequently brings me to my next point, your diet needs to be sustainable.
If your regime is as volatile as acetone then you won’t be able to stick to your program. You’ll jump from diet to diet trying to find the perfect one size fits all and will get stuck in a vicious cycle void of success.
No. 4 Abiding to Your Goals
And for my last point, no matter what foods you choose to include in your lifestyle diet, the amount you eat and the macronutrient quantities you consume need to abide by your fitness and physique goals. For example, fat loss, muscle building or maintenance.
Expanding a little, if you don’t eat in a caloric deficit you won’t be able to lose fat or if you don’t eat in a caloric surplus building muscle become significantly more difficult.
If your diet is geared towards accomplishing your goals, you’ve taken care of half the battle. All that’s left is making sure your workouts abide by your goals as well.
In conclusion, following a one size fits all diet, is unsustainable and won’t abide by your dietary preferences and making your success all the harder to achieve.
Ultimately, if you are serious about finding a diet that will work for you, you need to stop scouring books and the internet for your next quick fix and take a step back to reflect on how you can alter your diet to be appropriately geared towards accomplishing your goals.
By doing this you’ll not only be able to succeed at finding a diet that works for you, but you’ll also be able to take your first step towards nutrition mastery.
